She has teamed up with hair stylist to the stars Royston Blythe and Shrewsbury fashion retailer Wysteria Lane to create a programme that aims to help women regain their health, happiness and confidence.

The ‘How to Thrive After Cancer’ event on November 22 from 11am to 1.30pm will allow women to learn about self-esteem and confidence building and introduce them to the most suitable forms of exercise, especially after surgery.

Held at Rural Space gym and beauty centre, on the Pim Hill Estate, at Harmer Hill, the event will also cover topics such as meditation, relaxation, Thrive therapy, positive thinking techniques and image-over.

Vikki, who is also a qualified Thrive therapist, has joined forces with Shrewsbury-based celebrity stylist Royston Blythe and award-winning clothing retailer Wysteria Lane, in Shrewsbury, to provide free image-make-over consultations to women who attend the event.

Rural Space’s beauty therapist Emma Subbiani will also be giving complimentary make-up and skincare advice.

“I wanted to put together a programme that could help women build their self-esteem, get back in control of their lives and be happy, healthy, successful and feeling desirable again.” said Vikki, who has worked with women who have had cancer for many years.

“When people go through treatment they are well supported, but as soon as their treatment stops, they can feel on their own. People no longer feel in control of their lives when they have cancer. They can lose confidence and self-esteem. Their job may be affected, they may worry about all sorts of things. Depression and anxiety can creep in.

“Breast reconstruction surgery also has a big impact on the body, changing posture and balance and the way some muscle groups perform, so it’s important that women follow an exercise routine that supports these changes.

“A lot of people who have cancer wish to change things about their lives, change a job they don’t enjoy and pursue a new career. Thrive therapy is a psychologcal training programme that not only helps people to be resilient, happy and healthy but to achieve their goals in life.”

Everyone is welcome, and we look forward to seeing to on the day.
